Early roads and railroad
Below is some information about early roads and railroads in Hay Creek Township.
Early roads and railroad
The current main artery through the township is State Highway 58. The present alignment was created about 1936 when the predecessor road, called MN Highway 3, was realigned to eliminate hills and curves and, in some cases, to better follow property lines. In 2004 the northernmost section of the highway in the township was expanded from a two lane road to a four lane divided highway. 2 The highway through the Hay Creek valley was not upgraded at that time due to lack of funds.
