Historic buildings

Immanuel Lutheran church – The building that is now the sanctuary for the Immanuel congregation was originally constructed in 1895. It supplanted a previous structure that had been used by the congregation in the Flower Valley area in the 1860’s and was moved in the late 1880’s to land on Old Church Rd. that had been donated by Mr. Plote. That building was used as a parochial school after the new sanctuary was completed. 2 The 1895 building received a major expansion in 2012(?) to establish its current floor space.

German Methodist church – A German Methodist church was constructed in the southeast corner of the present intersection of Hwy 58 and Old Church Rd. at approximately the same time as the construction of the Immanuel Lutheran church in 1895. It has subsequently been razed with only a retaining wall and cemetery providing evidence of its original location
